Things To Pay Attention To When Cleaning
There are a couple of things in our homes most of us neglect which we get on with our house cleaning chores. They suffer these neglect because they require time and extra work we’re not ready to put into it. Sometimes it’s ignorance that makes others turn the blind eye – ignorance of the benefits to reap. Or could it be lack of motivation? Well, for whatever the reason, we have to start giving these things the proper attention when cleaning. What are these things I keep talking about? Here they are:
- Toothbrush holders
- Bath mats
While these may be one of the most unappealing household items to clean, it is very important you clean them on a regular basis. Trash cans can host some of the nastiest pathogens and allergens In a home, that if neglected will pollute the air in your home.
Additionally, it attracts pests such as cockroaches, ants, flies, and mice. This puts everyone in your home in danger of contracting some sickness or disease. There is also the awful stench that will emanate from the trash can. When you refuse to run the blind eye and wash your trash can, you’ll see the difference, you’ll also smell the difference.
Use strong disinfectants, but put on rubber gloves first when washing so you don’t expose yourself to the contaminants in the can.
You’d think about cause our toothbrushes to get into our mouths every day, we’ll be careful where we keep it. However, that’s not usually the case.
Toothbrush holders are items I believe suffer the worst neglect. There are toothbrush holders in most homes that have not been washed in the last two years. This is very wrong. If you are guilty of this its time to repent. While some of these items may have drainage holes at their base, they will still hold some layers of dust and dirt residues. These residues slowly accumulate over the years to form a layer of grime. Of course, you need no scientist to tell you that it will hold bacteria and other harmful microscopic organisms. We need to pay more attention to all toothbrush holders, washing it as frequently as once every week.
Considering the purpose they serve, bath mats will house an awful lot of bacteria and germs. The frequent moisture they experience every day encourages the growth and survival of germs. Several months to years without proper attention and cleaning, your bath mat becomes a large and unhealthy cake of grime, bacteria, pathogens, and germs. You get a slice of this awful cake everytime you wipe your bare feet on them. To keep your bath mat healthy and safe for use, wash it thoroughly with disinfectants and dry it every three days after use. Dry it in direct glare of sunlight. The heat and UV light of the sun is one natural way to control the growth of germs.
Take a moment to think no and consider just how often your doorknobs are touched every day. Most of the time these knobs are touched with dirty, greasy fingers. Bath t somehow cleaning the doorknobs never comes to mind.
It is very easy for disease pathogens to spread around your home quickly. Your doorknob gives pathogens that advantage. Cleaning your doorknobs is a very easy chore. All you need to do is spray some on a clean microfiber cloth then wipe at the doorknob with it. It’s just that easy and won’t steal too much of your time. You can help prevent the spread of disease in your home by simply doing that.
Germs are always active, seeking an entry into your body where they can cause some damage, don’t give them the chance. Don’t neglect these household items.
